VALENTINE'S DAY DIY

Valentine's Day has a way of sneaking up on me and before I know it I have just put out my decorations and it's time to take them down.  I guess it is part of that relaxing after the Christmas holidays.  I thought I would get a jump-start on items for a vignette for my entry table.
Some pretty simple items to gather for the project. Ribbon, candles, glass jars and ivy.  I moseyed over to The Graphic's Fairy for my cupid graphic and then printed them out on a waterslide decal. Please note that I filled the waterslide sheet with some graphics for another project as to not waste the area that was still available on the sheet.
After printing out the decals, let them rest for the half an hour and then cut around them as above.  Next follow instructions on the label box.  These are easy to use but you need to follow the instructions carefully.
Apply the waterslide decals to the glass and once again follow manufactures instructions (they may differ from brand to brand).
Now the fun/gratifying part, putting it all together.  Just add the candle, sprinkle the little hearts around the candle, add the ribbon (being careful to keep the ribbon away from the flame area) then the ivy and you are done.  I also think printing out a black cupid and using black and white ribbon and then other red accents would be cute too.

    1. Yes I do have a menu planned and since you asked I will make sure and post the menu and recipes next week. The main course will be an individual (and easy) beef Wellington, my version and individual potatoes gratin with salad, veggie and chocolate dessert. Thank you for asking! j.

  5. Great job in designing and creating these super sweet candle holders! I do believe I will copycat you and do a similar glass container for Valentine's Day.

  7. Thank you! It's a great project - the jar looks fantastic. I'm intrigued by the waterslide decals too. I can see the potential for lots of great uses for them :)

(PS - I found you via the Graphics Fairy.)

  8. Thank you for your kind comment. The labels are great and tho a little tricky after you do a couple they are easy and as I say be sure and follow the instructions carefully. They need to be sprayed after printing out and drying but I usually fill the page and then cut out the one I want to use and only spray that one as once you spray them you have to used them and after application, spray again. Maybe TMI, anyway, just follow the directions. Send me photos of your projects!! j.
