Although I just arrived home from a three day road trip I was very excited to do my tablescape for lunch/dinner for New Year's Day. I was lucky enough to have visited Nell Hill's in Atchison, Kansas - a fabulous store owned by Mary Carol Garrity and people come from all over to come to this little town and go to her store. She now has a store in Kansas City too but I love this store. After Christmas my DIL and I were out bright and early for a fun day of lunch and bargains. We went from Rock Port, MO to St. Joe, MO, to Kansas City, to the adorable town of Weston where we had lunch at an Irish Pub and finally to Nell Hill's. Isn't it amazing how women can always come up with the energy (after the busy and bustling time before and during Christmas) to shop!!
Wanted to have something easy to fix while hubby watches the games and I write thank-you notes.
Started off the tablescape with a runner then added the hen (she is sitting on an upside down tin that is wrapped in bark - was formally a container from the florist) added the little wood garland, pine cone picks, large faux pine cones and finally a small green garland with mini-pine cones.
Some striped bows to hide any unfinished looking ends....
So love the Paris napkins - inspiration for this tablescape too, a birthday gift from my sis.
All set and ready for lunch/dinner. Happy New Year and thank you for stopping by in 2014, hope you will come back again in 2015. May 2015 be the happiest and healthiest of years for you and yours.
