STOCKING BOXES MADE EASY

This is blog post #3 on the cut down paper mache boxes for stocking stuffer items - here is the link back to the first post with additional information for making these boxes: Link
Using stickers or letters you have cut out, place them in your desired area and then paint the box with any type of water based craft paint or chalk paint. After the paint dries, using a straight pin carefully lift off the stickers and the name appears!
Once completely dry, sketch your graphic on the top of the box. Now you are ready to paint your graphic, image.  One of the things I love best about this project is that there is no right or wrong - paint whatever you like - it will be an original you, so let your imagination just go wild and have fun with this.  Once you  have made a couple of these boxes, they go pretty fast and your recipient has an original gift from you, besides the filling.
After your paint is completely dry (I like to set the boxes in the oven with only THE OVEN lIGHT turned on to help with the drying process) then you will need to put some type of water  based sealer on your box.  Mod Podge works great too.
I picked up a couple of fun stocking items in Canada - the big coin is solid chocolate and for my grand-daughter who loves marshmallow Fluff, Tunnock's Tea Cakes, which are like a Mallomars cookie, but instead of that rubbery marshmallow filling on the cookie, Tunnock's is creamy marshmallow like Fluff - I think she will like these!
The largess - all sorts of candy and a Pocket Posh word puzzle books.
Fill the box with a little crinkle cut paper and ready to add the goodies.
They all had something a little different - this guy does not like peppermint so instead of a peppermint lolly he has a chocolate Santa. These boxes are a great size for this and so cute when they are cut down from the bigger size.
All sealed, dried and filled, ready for a no-peakie bow!
 Finished product!!!!!
