COCONUT & ESSENTIAL OIL SUGAR SCRUB

First let me say I love sugar scrub, all kinds of body scrub especially after the cold winter - love to use on my feet, elbows, knees, etc. This is NOT for the face, the grains of sugar are not fine enough and too harsh for the face.  I have for years seen recipes for homemade scrub but until I was given some homemade scrub (I loved it) did I decide I was going to give it a try.
I think this a big bang for your buck project - three ingredients, really good solid coconut oil, some essential oil (I chose lavender) and sugar - that's it period.  One thing I will say is if  you try this PLEASE use essential oil, not the fake stuff that is just a bunch a chemicals and to me has an off putting fragrance.  You could use any of the oils like orange oil too.
Oh yes did I mention that this is embarrassing simple?  Put the solid coconut oil in your mixer on medium and leave it for ten minutes - stop it once half way and push down the sides.
Finally add the sugar and oil and continue mixing to combine.  Another note is that most of the recipes call for some food coloring - I omit this because I do not want to put anything in this that is not natural. Personal preference.
Put the scrub into a container.
Now's the fun part - putting it all together.  On Pinterest and other sites I see really cute ideas for scrub containers but most of them are glass containers and I use the scrub in the shower or bath and would never give these in glass.  So.....the hunt was on to find the right container.  After looking in craft stores I came across these perfect little "Avengers" containers at the Dollar Tree.  I went to The Graphic's Fairy thinking I would just find a graphic for some lavender but instead found these wonderful graphics ready to print.  I modified them for my use and made the tag.  I will put the link to The Graphic's Fairy below.
If you look at the photo just above these  you will see that I printed out the three labels and tags and made a lami-label out of them.  I cut out the label and then cut the bottom part off to fit the flip top of the container.  Filled with the scrub, now ready to wrap!
I enlarged two of the labels and printed them out on a regular 8 1/2 x 11 full sheet label, some ribbon, some, the tags which were lami labeled so the back was sticky, attached them to some lavender cardstock, tissue, sizzle and a wooden spoon.

All wrapped and ready for giving!

Here is the label and the ingredients tag if you would like to use them, please feel free to do so, posted as jpeg files.

Recipe:
1 cup coconut oil, solid form
1 3/4 cups sugar (my recipe called for 2 cups but I did not use it all.
18 drops Essential Oil
Yield, three small containers

Whip the coconut oil in you mixer using the whisk attachment for 10 minutes, add the Essential Oil and finally the sugar and continue to whip to combine.  Place in airtight container.

Note: I think sometimes that lavender fragrance can be a little overpowering but with this scrub mixing the coconut and the lavender makes a really nice fragrance.
