PRETTY IN PINK LUNCH & ORANGE-BLOSSOM-HONEY MADELEINES

Nothing like spring and the beautiful blossoms and the renewal of all the beautiful gardens to awaken your spirit of friendship.  How about a nice luncheon for some friends?
One of the first things I did was to take the spring arrangement out of the rabbit jar (Link) and put in my old friend the cachepot - it was too easy, lifted out of one and put into the other!

Nothing too heavy, a sandwich, some fruit and chips and of course a sweet treat at the end.
Mostly old friends on the table but the cherry blossom salad/dessert plates are new - could not resist as they just screamed "SPRING!"

Chicken salad is one of those things I have never had a recipe for so when I was making mine I jotted down a couple of things to show how I put my version of chicken salad together. If you know your guests likes this is also really good with a little curry powder added - I never serve curry without either knowing a guest likes or asking because it is not a universal like. Omit the juice and sweetener and raisins and make the dish more savory - adding diced avocado, sunflower seeds and small cubed jalapeno jack cheese makes a very good chicken salad too.
A really sweet table and hopefully inviting for friends.

 Just a few simple ingredients.....
These are so good.  I love Madeleines, little bites of delicious,
moist cake, just enough sweetness. If you do not have a Madeleine pan you could use a mini-cupcake pan - they would of course not look the same but in a small well in a mini-cupcake pan I think they would cook okay.  The pans are not expensive - I only have one so I have to bake the first batch, cool off the pan and then bake the second batch.
Out of the oven, cooling and then a dusting of powdered sugar....
These silver spoon napkin rings are an old buy from Nell Hill's fabulous store in Atchison, KS. One of those things she had in buckets at a reasonable price.  One thing I love about them is that when they need to be cleaned I drop them one at a time in my ring cleaner solution, then wash and dry with a lint free cloth and voila - they are nice and shiny.
One more new item on the table - the two candle holders one cream and one verdigris - both on the table.  They are from Antique Farmhouse and there was a set of (3) the third one being brown - I'm thinking they will show up on many a table, many times.

After lunch a Madeleine or two and.....
A nice cup of tea...
