EASTER TREE FOR THE KITCHEN

Easter is almost here and my final decorating project was to change out the St. Patrick's Day kitchen tree and decorate it for Easter.
This is the little tree I picked up after Christmas and have decorated for Valentine's Day and St. Paddy's day and I am sure it will also take it's turn for the 4th of July, etc.  I did not know just how much I would love having a little tree in the kitchen.  All I really did for the Easter tree is to make a garland and the topper and add a few pink silk Easter lily's.

I purchased 1/8 of a yard of three different pastel fabrics as well as pink, yellow and white felt squares.  Then I cut them into strips approximately 7"x 1.25" - does not have to be perfect - I cut some with a rotary cutter and some with pinking shears so that the look varied.
I had a little of this sweet pink and white flannel so I cut some strips of the flannel, used some ribbon - whatever you want to use - it could all be fabric or all ribbon or for that matter all felt.  Tie a loop in the end of some twine, for my purposes I measured 9 feet and then tied another loop and over the course of a few nights sat while watching television and tied on the little strips.
Besides the pink lilies I added this cute little Annalee rabbit and I think she looks right at home snuggled into the tree.  She, like the other bunnies in the photographs are old friends, no new bunnies needed.
No right or wrong with the garland, just mix up  your colors and textures.
The little tree has battery lights which is especially nice when you have company, it looks quite magical with the tiny lights behind the decorations.
The "topper" is just made out of leftover strips and ribbon, tied together and then tied to the top of the tree.
Some excelsior in the colander to finish off the look....

I think it will be really cute to put plates of Easter cookies around the tree with the bunny friends watching.
