THE GIFT OF HOT CHOCOLATE

Need a last minute hostess or neighbor gift? Look no more. This is an easy gift to make yourself and the recipient will thank you for this cute jar with it's yummy contents. A link below will get you to the darling graphic (to use over and over) and I have included your labels for the top and the back of the jar.
While looking for something else on Etsy I came across this image for a label to download and I just loved it and knew I was going to make good use of the darling graphic.
A few very simple ingredients.  List: Mini-chocolate chips, powdered milk, unsweetened cocoa powder, salt, sugar and either already crushed peppermint candies or purchase peppermint candies and crush your own in a heavy Ziploc
bag.

Directions:

In a clean 1 quart jar pour in 1 cup powdered milk, over that 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder, 1 cup sugar, 1/2t salt, 1/2 cup mini-chocolate chips and finally 1/2 cup crushed peppermint candy. This recipe will fill the quart jar to the top.

Instructions to include: Mix contents in a bowl. For each serving place 1/3 cup mix in a mug and stir in 1 cup hot water. Store remaining mix in the jar or any other airtight container. I included the instructions on a label on the top of the jar.
Please put the ingredients list on the back of the jar as any gift of food should always list all ingredients used.

TO PRINT: If you have a draw program just copy and paste the sheet into your program. If you do not have a draw program an easy way to print out a sheet of these labels is to "right click" on the image and "save to your desktop", then "right click" on the file on the desktop and you get the option to "open in Picasa" (if you do not have Picasa it is free and an easy download) once in Picasa select the "print" option, then "full page", if it does not fit the page then select the" fit to page" option and it will print out perfectly.  If you are not using a lami-label then print it out on a full 8 1/2 x 11 full sheet label and then cut around the labels as you need them. I know this sounds complicated but it is really easy and once you have done it you will see it is that. Right click, save to desktop, right click, open in Picasa and print. Here is the link for Picasa: Link

A note about my labels.  I used a process called Lami-labels and you need a laminator to make these labels. I know not everyone has one of these machines. You can purchase the labels at FedEx (they used to be Kinko's locations). If you do not have a laminator FedEx will laminate the sheets of labels you bring to them for a fee. What the lami label does is you have a sheet that lifts up and you insert the page you have printed out, then it is run through a laminator and voila you have a sheet that is laminated and when you peel off the back it is sticky and will adhere to almost any surface - magic!
