A quick post and a reminder of just how useful chalk paint can be. I remember the first time I used Annie Sloan's paint. I watched her videos on YouTube and was amazed that she was painting right over everything including the metal pulls on furniture, etc. When it came time for me to do a bombe chest for my guest room - I did just that and it works! Chalk paint can be used on almost anything.
I think a medallion is one of those things that often fits a decorating problem spot - you know you need something but not quite sure what would look right. I had used this one at my home in Colorado and it was the right size for what I needed but not the right color.
I went through my inventory of Annie Sloan and decided that Old Ochre was the right color. I bought this small jar on Ebay. I do not have an Annie Sloan seller in my area and before I pay for shipping, etc. I will often purchase these small jars on Ebay.
I started out using a foam brush and quickly......
realized that with all these nooks and crannies what I needed was a paint brush. I was patient and kept turning and turning and painting and painting and finally....
it was finished, all I needed to do was let it dry. I originally thought I would be putting some dark wax on the medallion in places but when it was done I was satisfied with the look.
Just above the pantry in the kitchen was the spot that needed something.
Hubby pulled out the step-stool, the tape measure and the stud finder and hung this for me. So for the cost of about 2 ounces of Annie Sloan paint the empty spot is filled.
